So, I wonder what’s the worst that could have happened if instead of posting that 2 days after he died, the OP had waited maybe a whole week?  You know, enough time for the corpse to cool off a little.

Hitchens was not exactly known for his respect of the recently dead, especially if he felt they had been notably unworthy of respect.

So, yes, he was a bloodthirsty warmonger who ranted about “Islamofascism” and women’s shortcomings. May we soon get past any influence he had on anyone on those subjects.

This should be obvious, but you respect the recently dead for the sake of those who are still alive and in mourning.  What kind of person they were in life does not matter, because the dead are not the ones you’re being rude to.
